Time to move on, this time to a place I've never visited: Yemen
On the map
shaped like a clenched
fist, muscular arm
they say happiness
and humour create
oases here, that
Sinbad and Aladdin
haunt without being
pushy, that someone
or something faintly
remembered by us -
languid, fluid, dry
and gentle, inhabits
country, laughs mostly
at our comical parody
of human beingness.
From an early age I imagined travelling, writing a diary of a world tour well before I earned any money. My imagination was fed by my father's collection of travel brochures. As an adult I did, and still do, travel, but on this blog not all reflects direct experience.
